Another month and another fantastic selection of bread recipes entered into Bready Steady Go! There seemed to be a Mediterranean vibe to the entries last month, no doubt influenced by the arrival of summer.
First up we had a chorizo and grilled vegetable pizza from Elizabeth’s Kitchen Diary, nothing beats homemade pizza and by grilling the vegetables first Elizabeth say this stops the pizza from being soggy, an excellent cooking tip. Next we had two recipes from The Keen Cook using an ingredient I’ve never used in bread before, aubergine. She made an aubergine & feta foccacia and a (not very) Venetian rolled pizza from the same batch of dough. It looks like the aubergine makes the bread lovely and soft and the rolled pizza filled with spicy chicken, aubergine and feta sounds really tasty.
Next up Baking Queen74 are these delightful cheese and herb rolls, I really like the swirled shape and will have to give that a try next time I bake bread rolls, it makes them look just that little bit more special. More Mediterranean inspiration now from Caroline Makes with an olive and rosemary foccacia, such a classic combination and Caroline served it up at a recent barbecue with friends. Something completely different now from Chardonnay & Samphire are these chia flatbreads which are gluten free and an easy way to incorporate some of the goodness of chia seeds. Time for the only sweet entry of the month from United Cakedom with her Bath buns inspired by a recent trip to Bath and Jane Austen novels. They have a sweet surprise in the middle and look delicious.
Finally sneaking in very very late is me with my croissants, something I’d wanted to try baking for a long time and I decided June would be the month to try it. Turns out they’re not that difficult but they do take a long time!
